Been listening to this Miles Davis masterpiece while and in between having lessons. It's great. If only our office was dimly lit and we were all allowed to smoke... we will all be dead. Ha.
I had an amazing gig last friday. It was amazing because it was energetic. It wasn't exactly about the music that night. It was, but the focus was somewhere else... it was on having fun. It was an anniversary party anyway.
P said that he liked vocalists that know how to rev up a crowd. It got me to thinking I'm really not into that. I'm into the more low-key performances. He said only divas do that. They only use their voice to entice an audience. Well, Pops Fernandez is supposedly a concert queen (and thereby a diva if not the diva) but she doesn't sing well.
I like it best when people stand up and dance or bob their heads with their eyes closed because they want to be one with the music. That's the audience I love performing for --- as much as I love being a part of. More and more, it's clear to me.
I will give 14 lessons tomorrow. Geez.
