My guitar's name is Anima.
I thought I found the name Dierdre befitting, until I found out it meant "sorrowful, broken-hearted". There is now way I'm naming my new best buddy that.
ANIMA means "soul, spirit" in Latin. In Jungian psychology the anima is an individual's true inner self, or soul. Perfecto.
It also means "minuteness" from Sanskrit (animan). In yoga texts, this is the name of the ability to make oneself infinitely small so to be invisible. Many of my best performances have been in the comfort and solace in my own room.
